Sketches

A sketch is a graphic representation of the crime scene or accident scene in a manner that will permit the viewer to reconstruct the scene by viewing the details of the sketch. A two dimensional photograph cannot measure or portray distances between objects. This is why sketching is a crucial ingredient in any crime scene or accident scene investigation.

Photography

Photography is a must to prove the validity, location, and size of the evidence. Not only does it document the evidence taken from the scene but a photograph with a sample can also be used as evidence. Some evidence cannot be moved from the scene. A piece of evidence may be to big or part of a structure and can not be transferred or to brittle to move. Photographing and taking a sample may be the only means of collecting the evidence.
